“Our experience with Travel Meets Culture exceeded our expectations. Our tour was the East German Route and we found the comprehensive approach to German culture and history provided by Christiana and Lee both stimulating and entertaining. We seamlessly transitioned from discussions about music, architecture and history as we visited various sites and towns. All of these well-thought-out elements allowed us to have a better understanding and appreciation for Germany’s varied contributions to the world. We benefited from Christiana’s native understanding and Lee’s passion for all subjects. We saw sites and had experiences that are not the typical tourist fare. The travel details, including accommodations, food and experiences, were above and beyond! They curated a unique and well integrated travel opportunity that was truly remarkable.
We have traveled a lot all over the world, and consider ourselves tour connoisseurs. We’ve done group tours, solo tours, history tours, food tours, and personalized tours. But we’ve never gone on a tour that balances expertise and enjoyment so well. We’d been to Germany before but with Christiana’s German and music background and Lee’s passion for history and humanities we saw all kinds of hidden gems, including the charming but tiny medieval town of Quedlinburg and our breathtaking picnic hike overlooking Saxon Switzerland. We loved how the tour took us off the beaten path. Christiana and Lee were extremely attentive to our comfort, including picking excellent restaurants that accommodated our food restrictions. They took care of all the logistics of getting around, schedule, and very comfortable accommodations. We loved the itinerary — it had a really well-thought-out mix of music, architecture and history. The discussions were entertaining and deeply engaging. In the evenings we had free time, and Christiana and Lee helped us arrange extra outings we were interested in, including a great performance of Faust in Weimar. We plan to do other tours with them — hoping to do the Southern Tour next. We would absolutely recommend taking a tour with them.”
